5th May 2026 Leybourne Lakes
In my continuing search for good places to take photos, i went off to Leybourne lakes near Larkfield in Kent. Leybourne Lakes Country Park is a 230-acre award-winning nature reserve and recreational park near the M20 (Junction 4) between Larkfield and Snodland. Formed from reclaimed gravel pits fed by natural springs, the park features a diverse cluster of clean water lakes, wetlands, and wildflower meadows that serve as a crucial haven for local wildlife and migratory birds. I had heard it was a highly popular destination for outdoor recreation, offering extensive walking and cycling trails, a scuba diving center, open-water swimming, kayaking, and a lakeside café, making it a scenic hotspot for both nature photography and watersports.
I had a wander round to see what I could find, lots of open space and birds a plenty.
