Barbican 15th July 2026

I’ve hear the term “The Barbican” a few times and new it was a place in London. Never actually knew what it was or been anywhere near it. Well today we went up to have a look round. It’s basically a great big brutalist developement, kinda like a town with in a city. Large square blocks of concrete, harsh lines broken with little areas of green. It feels like a movie set from a 1960’s idea of a utopia gone bad.

It looks especially harsh in black and white. But there is some humanity there but it feels like an idea gone wrong.

It was interesting to look around but I could’t help feeling if I lived there I would wonder what I did to deserve it.
